Mowital® B 30 H

Mowital® B 30 H by Kuraray is a low viscosity polyvinyl butyral (PVB). Acts as a binder for coatings, printing inks, textile printing & non-woven and co-binder for powder coatings. It is available as fine grained, free flowing white powder. It is compatible with plasticizers and can be crosslinked with other reactive polymers such as phenol, epoxy and melamine resins. It is soluble in a wide range of organic solvents & mixtures and insoluble in water. Provides good dimensional stability and decomposes cleanly during sintering. Exhibits very good adhesion, better plasticizing and excellent pigment wetting properties. Offers resistance to light & water and heat-sealable at temperatures above 120°C. Suitable for the manufacture of pigment concentrates and preparations. It can be processed thermoplastically or in solution of organic solvents. Mowital® B 30 H is designed for strippable lacquers, flexographic and gravure printing inks. It is used in coatings (adhesion promotion/corrosion protection primers, shop primers, wash primers, stoving enamels, varnishes and lacquers for different substrates). Complies with US FDA 21 CFR 175.300 for resinous & polymeric coatings, FDA 21 CFR 176.170 for components of paper & paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty foods, EG regulation 1935/2004 and No. 10/2011. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
