Aktifit® Q by Hoffmann Mineral acts as a functional filler. It can be used either on its own or combined with extenders or matting agents. It is an activated Silfit® Z 91, produced by modifying the surface with a methacrylic functional group. Imparts good transparency and retains the excellent properties of the base material as it possesses very high- brightness & color-neutrality, relatively low abrasivity, low sieve residues and low moisture content.
  • Its special process technology provides high hydrophobicity and outstanding low moisture absorption even under very humid conditions.
  • Exhibits matting effect, good wettability and outstanding dispersing properties which enable coating production potentially without grinding.
  • It provides optimum effect in binder systems that polymerize or crosslink by a radical-initiated reaction which include acrylic-, acrylated-, unsaturated polyester- and vinyl ester resins.
  • It is quick-drying and imparts weathering-, scratch-, chemical-, abrasion resistance.
  • It enhances the opacity (spacer effect) of pigments and acts as a replacement potential of titanium dioxide of up to 20% or increasing hiding power.
  • Aktifit® Q is used in 1k polyurethane, water-based anti-corrosion-, metal-, film-, dispersion-based clear wood-, construction- & decorative coatings, dispersion coatings for concrete, and interior dispersion paints with special properties.
  • It is suitable for UV-curing clear coats (varnishes), powder- and pigmented coatings.
  • Recommended dosage level is up to 55% m/m or up to PVK 35 depending on the application.
  • The shelf life of product is 2 years.
