THIXATROL® P230X by Elementis is a special polyamide wax dispersion based rheology modifier which prevents settling of pigments and fillers and improves sag resistance. It shows excellent anti-settling of heavy pigments such as micaceous iron oxides, zinc dust and anti-corrosive pigments; in some instances, soft settling may occur which can be easily re-dispersed.
- It imparts strong thixotropic properties and anti-sagging effect especially in high film-build coatings.
- It easy to disperse and enhances orientation of metallic and pearlescent pigments.
- It is used in paints, protective-, wood-, auto refinish-, general industrial-, and solvent-based coatings and inks.
- Recommended dosage level is 1.0-5.0%.
- THIXATROL® P230X has a shelf life of 18 months.
