
Bentone® 38 by Elementis is a highly efficient rheological modifier designed for use in low to intermediate polarity organic systems. It is an organic derivative of a hectorite clay.
- It increases viscosity, controls sagging on vertical surfaces, and penetration on porous substrates.
- It improves flow and leveling, prevents pigment settling during storage and syneresis in thixotropic systems.
- It is suitable for aerosol paints, anti-corrosive paints, automotive finishes and primers, coil coating systems, industrial paints, trichloroethylene dip coatings, and wood stains.
- It is used in interior and exterior house paints.
- Recommended dosage level is 0.2-0.5% for house and industrial paints.
- Bentone® 38 has a shelf life of 4 years.
