DOWSIL™ Z-6689

Supplied byDKSH- Last Updated on Mar 27, 2026

DOWSIL™ Z-6689 distributed by DKSH is a water repellency made from solvent-free silane/siloxane blend. It provides excellent beading within as little as five minutes after application and can be diluted in organic solvents to formulate water-repellent products.
  • It creates a hydrophobic treatment that inhibits water absorption and performs effectively even at low active solids levels of 5–10 percent.
  • Its small molecular structure allows deep penetration into absorbent surfaces, enhancing repellency while chemically bonding to the substrate.
  • It performs well on both neutral and alkaline surfaces and is UV stable, which increases the lifespan of the treatment.
  • Additionally, it is permeable to water vapor but resistant to liquid water, helping to reduce water absorption, cracking, spalling, freeze-thaw damage, and efflorescence, thereby extending the life of the substrate.
  • At low solids levels, it does not alter the appearance of the substrate and allows for higher dilution rates.
  • It is suitable to use on neutral and alkaline mineral substrates such as brick, sandstone, concrete and mortar that require water repellency.
  • It is used in construction paints and coatings.
  • DOWSIL™ Z-6689 has a shelf life of 1 years.
  • It is available in APAC region (New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania).
