DOWSIL™ 3 Additive

DOWSIL™ 3 Additive distributed by DKSH acts as a levelling agent. It is a low viscosity, silanol functional silicone resin for dispersion of inorganic pigment to prevent flooding and floating. It is used as a pigment dispersant in titanium dioxide white base paints during pigment grind or let-down.

• It is highly effective at low concentrations and easy to incorporate.
• It contributes minimally to VOC (<0.01 g/l), enhances color consistency, and is compatible with multiple coatings formulations.
• It offers flexibility and good cost-in-use.
• It shows compatibility with epoxy, polyurethane, polyester, alkyd and acrylic binder systems.
• It finds application in formulating solvent-based industrial wood coatings.
• The recommended dosage of this product is 2–10 weight percent of the titanium dioxide used.
• It can be used in pastels and grays.
• It is used in architectural and decorative applications, printing inks, can, coil and industrial coatings, and automotive paints.
