Coapur™ XS 71 by Coatex (Arkema Group) is a water soluble, non-ionic, solvent-and tin-free polyurethane thickener. It is recommended for water-based systems which should combine high in-can viscosities with excellent pigment compatibility, further use on tinting machine or manual coloration. It shows good anti-sagging, resistance, and spraying performance.
  • It offers a unique pseudoplastic rheology profile, performing also strongly at medium shear rate and significantly at high shear rates.
  • It exhibits a smooth structure and an optimized easiness of coat with no spatter.
  • It ensures the best color development possible while using pigment pastes, even in the presence of problematical binders.
  • The use of Coapur™ XS 71 limits viscosity drops after pigment paste addition, eliminates pigment flooding and floating during storage and enables to match excellent results based on rub-out test.
  • It is designed for water-proof membrane coatings, anti-corrosion paints and wood stains.
  • Recommended dosage level is 0.1-1% as sole thickener in matt dispersion paints and 0.05-0.8% when combined with a high and/or medium shear effective thickener in all kinds of formulations.
  • It can be used sole in matt dispersion paints or in combination with high shear effective thickeners for one coat matt paint, eggshell, silk, and semi-gloss paint.
  • Coapur™ XS 71 has a shelf life of 12 months.
