Borchi® Shield by Borchers (Milliken) is a phenol- and MEKO-free anti-skinning agent. It is used with a high-performance Borchi® Dragon catalyst in solvent-based oxidatively cured coating systems and high solids alkyds. It is designed to work well in high solids, long oil resin systems.
- It improves the storage stability and keeps the film open longer to ensure deeper penetration of oxygen.
- It also works synergistically with Borchi® Dragon ligand technology to provide slower surface drying, allowing for proper oxidative through cure even with thicker films.
- It eliminates excessive dry time retardation with phenolics.
- Borchi® Shield finds applications in automotive-, industrial-, architectural-, wood-, protective- and marine coatings.
- Recommended dosage level is 0.2-1.5% by weight on total formulation.
