Borchi® Phoenix by Borchers (Milliken) is a high-performance accelerator. It enhances the drying performance of 8% manganese neodecanoate drier (e.g., Borchers® Deca Manganese 8 or 8% Manganese Ten-Cem®) in solvent-based and high solids alkyd resins. It offers faster drying times, even under adverse ambient conditions as low as 40°F (4.4°C), results in less yellowing and brighter whites compared to cobalt driers.
- It provides a wrinkle-free appearance when used in thick film applications.
- Borchi® Phoenix is suitable for use in coatings formulated with resins that dry by oxidation, such as alkyds, vegetable oils, epoxy esters and polybutadiene.
- Recommended dosage level is 0.005-0.02% manganese metal based on binder solids.
