Borchers® Deca Barium 12.5 by Borchers (Milliken) acts as a highly efficient secondary drier. It inhibits the adsorption of primary driers on the surfaces of pigments and extenders, thereby enhancing the coating’s stability during extended storage.
- It improves gloss, provides good pigment wetting properties, and promotes through-drying.
- Borchers® Deca Barium 12.5 is suitable for solvent-based systems based on alkyds and epoxy esters that dry by oxidation.
- The typical usage level is 0.1-0.5% barium metal, based on binder solids.
