Borchers® AF 1171 by Borchers (Milliken) is a solvent- & VOC-free, polysiloxane-based defoamer and anti-foaming agent for water- and solvent-based systems. It offers improved film gloss, substrate wetting and color strength in pigmented systems.
- It is easy to emulsify in water and avoids microfoam formation during manufacturing.
- It supports quick air release of entrapped air in the surface during application.
- It should be used in the grinding step, but can also be added in let-down or post-add.
- It is designed for coatings based on water-soluble alkyds, polyurethanes, styrenes, straight & vinyl acrylates and hydroxyl-bearing polyacrylates.
- It is particularly suitable for mill-base defoaming for aqueous decorative- and general industrial coatings.
- The recommended dosage level of Borchers® AF 1171 is 0.05-1.50% on the total weight of the formulation.
