Tinuvin® 5070 by BASF is a solvent-free, liquid blend of a 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-benzotriazole UV absorber (UVA) and a non-basic hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS). It is designed to fulfill the cost/performance and durability requirements of exterior solvent borne industrial and decorative coatings.
- It is especially suited for oxidative drying and acid catalyzed systems.
- It provides excellent photoprotection for coatings by preventing loss of gloss, cracking, and color change.
- Its low-basicity HALS enables compatibility with acidic materials, including acid catalysts and acidic pigments.
- It is used in wood stains and varnishes, general industrial paints, and heavy-duty maintenance and marine coatings.
- Tinuvin® 5070 is also suitable for architectural coatings, such as roof tiles, walls, and floor coatings, as well as glass and ceramic coatings, including architectural glazing and packaging applications.
