Tinuvin® 5070

Supplied byBASF- Last Updated on Jun 29, 2026

Tinuvin® 5070 by BASF is a solvent-free, liquid blend of a 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-benzotriazole UV absorber (UVA) and a non-basic hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS). It is designed to fulfill the cost/performance and durability requirements of exterior solvent borne industrial and decorative coatings.
  • It is especially suited for oxidative drying and acid catalyzed systems.
  • It provides excellent photoprotection for coatings by preventing loss of gloss, cracking, and color change.
  • Its low-basicity HALS enables compatibility with acidic materials, including acid catalysts and acidic pigments.
  • It is used in wood stains and varnishes, general industrial paints, and heavy-duty maintenance and marine coatings.
  • Tinuvin® 5070 is also suitable for architectural coatings, such as roof tiles, walls, and floor coatings, as well as glass and ceramic coatings, including architectural glazing and packaging applications.
