Tinuvin® 249-DW ECO by BASF is an aqueous preparation of a non-basic HALS. It is designed to meet medium to high performance and durability requirements for exterior water-based coatings where basic HALS fail. It protects coatings from surface defects such as gloss reduction, cracking, and chalking, while improving the retention of mechanical properties.
  • It offers good long-term performance and thermal stability without interacting with acidic paint ingredients such as catalysts or surfactants.
  • It is non-migrating and preserves dry-film properties such as inherent color, transparency, and gloss without affecting water sensitivity, blocking resistance, hardness, or scratch resistance.
  • It disperses easily in a wide range of water-based systems without high shear, co-solvents, or dispersing aids, shows no settling during storage, and contains no EUH 208 label, MIT, or zinc pyrithione.
  • It is suitable for high-performance industrial and decorative coatings, high-performance wood stains and wood coatings, waxes and wood-care products, and architectural coatings.
  • It is also recommended for overprint varnishes on metal, board, paper, and laminates, glass and ceramic coatings, and water-based UV-curable systems.
  • Tinuvin® 249-DW ECO has a shelf life of 18 months.
