Hydrophobing Agents for Coatings and Inks

Flexipel™ Q-50 by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a water-based, stabilized cationic silane emulsion that delivers a durable, invisible coating under ambient cure conditions. It provides antistatic properties, lubricity, water repellency and stain resistance. It offers durable scratch resistant coating for glass, mirrors, tile and ceramics. Flexipel™ Q-50 has a shelf life of 6 months.

Flexipel™ SR-95HF by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a functionalized dispersant polymer has built-in detergent, wetting, and haze-free characteristics for use as an additive in bath & shower cleaners, hard surface cleaners, and vehicle cleaners such as one-step self-dry, no rinse, touchless wash. It enhances cleaning and leaves behind a durable barrier which resists the insults of hard water, soap scum, and particulate soils. Recommended dosage level is 0.25-10% by weight of solution. Flexipel™ SR-95HF has a shelf life of 12 months.

Flexipel™ Q-1000 by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a concentrated, polar solvent-based reactive silane that delivers a durable, invisible coating under ambient cure conditions. It provides antistatic properties, lubricity, water repellency and stain resistance. It offers durable scratch resistant coating for glass, mirrors, tile and ceramics. Flexipel™ Q-1000 has a shelf life of 12 months.

Flexipel™ SR-80 by Innovative Chemical Technologies is an aqueous polymer used to impart a hydrophilic and easy clean surface which resists soap scum build-up, hard water deposits and oily soil. Provides spot-free drying in hard surface cleaners and treatments as well as for vehicle care including DIY applications with rinse. It functions in neutral, acid, alkaline and peroxide environments. Used in exterior automotive applications. It is acceptable for aerosol applicationsn and is compatible with nonionic, anionic, amphoteric and some cationic materials. Recommended dosage level is 0.05-1% by weight of solution. Flexipel™ SR-80 has a shelf life of 12 months.

VARIPHOB® AC 3030 by CHT Group is a high-performance silicone and wax-based hydrophobic agent for the protection of substrates. It is an organomodified polysiloxane. It imparts a hydrophobic effect to end products while allowing optimum water vapor permeability. It is designed for aqueous systems. It is open to diffusion & emulsion and increases the surface hydrophobicity. It is free from mineral oil, fluorine, organic solvents and silicone cycles (D4/D5/D6).

• It has low tendency to dirt pick-up and improves early water resistance.
• Provides high durability in the final coating, high compatibility and no washout effect.
• It in non-ionic, non-yellowing and protects against wetness.

DOWSIL™ 87 Additive distributed by DKSH is a solvent- and APEO-free, silicone-based additive for hydrophobing waterborne decorative coatings. It shows good compatibility with acrylic resins. It is suitable for formulation of waterborne decorative coatings to improve water repellency.

• It has minimal effect on water vapor permeability and high dirt pickup resistance.
• It is used in metal protective coatings, can, coil and industrial coatings, and construction applications.
• Recommended dosage level is 1-5%.
• DOWSIL™ 87 Additive has a shelf life of 24 months from date of production.
• It is available in APAC region (New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar).

NFC GARD by Lamberti is a water repellent compound free of fluoro derivatives. It is non-ionic, aqueous dispersion of synthetic polymer. It offers high washing fastness and high water-repellency on several textile substrates (AATCC 22 upto 100). It is used in water repellent treatments.

• It can be combined with PUD or acrylic resins in coating pastes to confere water-repellency in quantity between 3% and 6%.
• In order to enhance the fastness of the treatment, the addition of a polyisocyanate (3-10 g/l) is suggested.
• It can be applied by padding in water bath between 30 and 100 g/l.
• NFC GARD has shelf life of 12 months.

TEGO® Phobe 6600 distributed by DKSH is a formulation of a polysiloxane resin / silane blend for waterborne impregnations and primers. It is applicable on neutral to slightly alkaline substrates. Provides a good water beading effect. It is used in architectural paints, wood-, can-, coil-, decorative-, general industrial coatings and printing inks.

• Recommended usage level is 5.0-25.0%.
• It has a shelf life of 12 months.
• TEGO® Phobe 6600 is available in APAC region (Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Philippines).

DOWSIL™ GP SHP 60 Plus distributed by DKSH acts as a hydrophobic agent. It is a silane resin-based powder. It is designed to improve hydrophobic performance for cementitious dry-mix powder applications. It displays the features and benefits of easy to disperse in water, easy to mix in powered composition, prevents efflorescence aesthetical problems by reducing the transport of water-soluble salts and makes cement-based materials more hydrophobic.

• It is used in cement-based compositions and used to reduce the capillary movement of liquid water in grouts, joint fillers, mortar, EIFS, stucco, and facade-render.
• It is suitable for construction paints and coatings.
• Recommended dosage level of DOWSIL™ GP SHP 60 Plus is 0.1-0.5% by weight.
• It is available in APAC region (New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar).

TEGO® Phobe 1500 N distributed by DKSH is a product that produces hydrophobing and very pronounced beading effect. Also suitable for water-, solvent borne formulations. Provides very good water resistance. It is used in architectural paints, wood-, can-, coil-, decorative-, general industrial coatings and printing inks.

• Recommended usage level is 1.0-8.0%.
• It has a shelf life of 12 months.
