Acrylate & Methacrylate Oligomers for Coatings and Inks

EBECRYL® 3608 by allnex is a fatty acid modified epoxy acrylate oligomer diluted with 15% of oligotriacrylate (OTA 480). It is characterized by low odor, light color, low irritancy, excellent pigment wetting properties and good cure response when cured by exposure to ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB). EBECRYL® 3608 is recommended for lithographic and screen ink and coatings, overprint varnishes, coatings on cardboard, chipboard, paper, rigid plastics and paper upgrading. Cured films exhibit high surface hardness, good solvent resistance and low residual odor. The shelf life of the grade is 2 years.

EBECRYL® 215 by allnex is an aromatic urethane diacrylate oligomer diluted with 20% of tripropylene glycol diacrylate (TPGDA) monomer. Films cured by ultraviolet light (UV) or electronbeam (EB) exhibit good flexibility, toughness, acceptable abrasion resistance, good adhesion to various substrates in combination with a good solvent resistance. It may be applied by lithographic, screen, gravure, direct or reverse roll and curtain coating methods. EBECRYL® 215 is recommended for coatings on rigid and flexible plastics, wood coatings, screen inks, low gloss coatings and conformal coatings. The shelf life of the grade is 2 years.

EBECRYL® 641 by allnex is an amino modified epoxy acrylate oligomer with high flexibility. It offers medium viscosity, good flow, high gloss, and high reactivity. UV cured inks and overprint varnishes based on EBECRYL® 641 are characterized by very good adhesion to plastic substrates and very good solvent resistance. EBECRYL® 641 is recommended for off-set, UV flexo and screen inks. The shelf life of the grade is 1 year.

EBECRYL® 609 by allnex is a bisphenol A epoxy diacrylate oligomer diluted with 15% of butylacetate. It is characterized by light color and medium viscosity. Films cured by UV or EB exhibit high gloss and high surface hardness and excellent solvent resistance. EBECRYL® 609 is recommended for use in overprint varnishes, lithographic & screen inks, paper upgrading, fast cure coatings, wood sealers & topcoats and coatings for paper, paperboard, wood chipboard & rigid plastics. The shelf life of the grade is 2 years.

EBECRYL® 284 by allnex is an aliphatic urethane diacrylate oligomer diluted with 12% of 1,6 hexanediol diacrylate monomer. Films of this product cured by ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB), exhibit excellent exterior durability, toughness, good flexibility as well as the non-yellowing properties typical of an aliphatic urethane. EBECRYL® 284 is recommended for use in coatings for plastic (like plasticized PVC), cork, metal, paper upgrading and pigmented coatings for wood and PVC floor covering.

EBECRYL® 745 by allnex is a light color, moderate viscosity, acrylic polymer diluted 46% by weight with a 1/1 ratio of the reactive diluents 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA) and tripropylene glycol diacrylate (TPGDA). It is used as the primary or modifying oligomer in ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB) curable formulations to increase flexibility and adhesion on difficult substrates.

• EBECRYL® 745 is recommended for silk screen inks, coatings on plastics and inks for difficult substrates such as untreated polyester, polypropylene and polystyrene.
• Formulated products may be applied via direct or reverse roll, offset gravure, metering rod, slot die, knife over roll, air knife, curtain- & immersion coating methods as well as screen printing.

EBECRYL® 811 by allnex is a UV or EB curable polyester acrylate. Inks made using EBECRYL® 811 obtain excellent adhesion to calendered vinyl, polystyrene, polyolefins and PVC. It offers excellent water balance for printing on non-absorbent substrates along with very low misting. It is recommended for offset inks, specifically for printing credit cards and smart cards. It is also used for printing on plastic signage and banners as well as containers.

Etercure 6314C-60 distributed by DKSH is a chlorinated polyester acrylate oligomer. It provides good pigment wetting, flexibility and good adhesion. It is designed for use in UV coatings for metal, plastic and paper and UV lithographic inks. The shelf life of Etercure 6314C-60 is maximum 12 months when stored below 30°C. This product is available in Canada and USA.

Etercure 6261 distributed by DKSH is an epoxy type soybean oil acrylate for use in UV and EB curing composition. It provides good flexibility and pigment wetting for overprint varnishes and lithographic inks.

• The shelf life of the product is 6 months when stored under 30°C.
• Etercure 6261 is available in Canada and USA.

EBECRYL® 605 by allnex is a bisphenol A epoxy diacrylate oligomer diluted with 25% of tripropyleneglycol diacrylate monomer.

• It exhibits light color and fast cure response.
• It provides a lower viscosity and easier handling product.
• Films of EBECRYL® 605 cured by UV or EB exhibit high gloss, high surface hardness and excellent solvent- & chemical- resistance, typical of an epoxy resin.
• It is recommended for lithographic and screen inks, overprint varnishes, wood fillers, coatings for paper, wood, chipboard and rigid plastics.
