Coating ingredients for Machinery / Equipment Coatings

SETALUX® 17-1611 by allnex is hydroxy functional acrylic resin designed for use with aliphatic isocyanate resins in two-component systems. These systems produce ambient curing high performance coatings. Laboratory testing indicates excellent resistance to salt spray, water soak and humidity. Based on accelerated weathering tests, it has excellent exterior durability.

• It provides good flexibility and chemical resistance properties.
• It is suitable for industrial high performance coatings for wood, metal or plastics and fast drying industrial primers and topcoats.
• Recommended for topcoats for transportation, chemical maintenance or construction equipment and spot repair clearcoats for car refinishes.
• SETALUX® 17-1611 has a shelf life of 3 years.

SETAL® 11-2460 by allnex is a high solids, medium soybean oil alkyd resin. Designed for use as a modifier in air dry coatings.

• Provides exterior durability, gloss retention, good flow, high gloss and good flexibility.
• SETAL® 11-2460 is used for rail car enamels, industrial maintenance primers, shop coats, bridge paints and architectural coatings.
• It has a shelf life of 2 years.

SETAL® 11-2660 by allnex is medium soybean/linseed oil alkyd designed for use in a wide variety of high quality air dry finishes. It contributes easy brushing and provides excellent durability, flow and leveling. It exhibits good toughness & flexibility combined with excellent gloss and gloss retention. It shows good compatibility with alkyds and raw or bodied vegetable oils. SETAL® 11-2660 is recommended for farm equipment, machinery and implement enamels. It is suitable for industrial maintenance & shop coats and floor finishes. It meets the basic requirements of Federal Specification TT-R-266, Type III but is in a slower solvent blend. It has a shelf life of 2 years. It is delivered as 50.0% non-volatile in mineral spirits/Aromatic 100.

SETAL® 21-1494 by allnex is a high solids chain-stopped soybean oil alkyd for use in the manufacture of coatings that must comply with VOC levels 3.5 lb/gal or lower. Coatings based upon this resin are characterized by fast cure response, high specular gloss, good hardness, adhesion, chemical resistance and good color retention. It reduces rapidly with aromatic or oxygenated solvents to provide low VOC paint requirements. This resin is compatible with other film formers such as thermoplastic acrylics, solution vinyl resins, selected alkyds such as SETAL® 21-1482 and high solids urea and melamine formaldehyde resins. It is recommended for industrial air-dry, force-dry and bake enamels for metal, automotive and rail car refinish enamels and agricultural equipment. SETAL® 21-1494 is stable for 1 year at temperatures up to 100°F.

SETAL® 50-402/50 by allnex is a medium oil alkyd resin based on linseed oil. Exhibits excellent drying properties, flexibility, adhesion to metal surfaces and excellent exterior durability. It has good compatibility with a range of both long and short oil alkyds. SETAL® 50-402/50 may be used to formulate industrial paints such as machinery enamels, primers and structural steel maintenance paints, which can be applied by brush, roller or spray. It has a shelf life of 12 months at 5-35°C.

SETAL® 11-2457 by allnex is a pure medium soybean oil alkyd resin.It provides good flow and leveling in trade sales. It exhibits exterior durability and gloss retention. Cured films possesses good toughness and flexibility. It is designed for use in high drink air dry, force dry (160-180°F surface temperature) or bake finishes. SETAL® 11-2457 allows the introduction of large amounts of reducing solvent for better economics. Additional chemical resistance and enhanced performance may be obtained by crosslinking with melamine resin. Applications include machinery, implement enamels, industrial maintenance and shop coats and floor finishes. It has a shelf life of 2 years at 100°F.

SETAL® 11-2407 by allnex is a medium soyabean oil alkyd resin. It provides excellent color and gloss retention. It offers good toughness and flexibility. It is designed for use in a wide variety of high quality air dry, force dry (160-180°F surface temperature) or bake finishes. It is an excellent choice for formulating fast setting traffic paints. SETAL® 11-2407 is also an excellent choice for coatings on farm machinery, industrial implements and structural steel. It has a shelf life of 2 years at 100°F.

VIALKYD® AY 402/50X by allnex is an acrylic, vinyl and urethane modified alkyd resin. It has extremely fast initial and through drying, excellent re-coatability at any time, excellent adhesion to steel and aluminum, superior protection against corrosion and excellent water resistance. VIALKYD® AY 402/50X is used in anti-corrosive primers, spraying fillers, knifing and spray putties, air-drying and forced drying industrial and machinery paints. It is delivered as 50% in xylene (50X) and has a shelf life of 730 days at 25°C.

SETAL® 50-209/50 by allnex is a short oil rosin phenolic-modified alkyd resin based on dehydrated castor oil. Exhibits outstanding adhesion to greasy substrates, excellent salt-spray, humidity-resistance, good recoat properties and low topcoat “sinkage”. SETAL® 50-209/50 is recommended for the formulation of low-cost fast air-drying and stoving anti-corrosive primers, surfacers, finishes and machinery enamels. It has a shelf life of 12 months at 5-35°C.

SETAL® 11-2408 by allnex is a pure medium soybean oil alkyd resin. It is designed for use in high drink air dry, force dry (160-180ºF surface temperature) or bake finishes/primers. It allows the introduction of large amounts of reducing solvent for better economics. Additional chemical resistance and enhanced performance may be obtained by crosslinking with melamine resin. The cured films have good toughness. SETAL® 11-2408 provides good exterior durability, gloss retention and good hiding at lower vehicle solids. It is suitable for machinery & implement enamels and industrial maintenance & shop coats. The shelf life of this product is 2 years.
