Coating ingredients for Floor Coatings

B-Tough™ C2r by Cargill is a VOC-free, reactive epoxy functional toughening agent. It is a low viscous, non-migratory additive which is easy to handle and to formulate with. It offers good chemical resistance and excellent impact resistance, while absorbing mechanical stress without impacting hardness.

• It allows for the formulation of zero to low VOC epoxy coatings with the flexibility of a solid epoxy (1001 type) resin-based system and the hardness of a liquid epoxy (828 type) resin-based system.
• B-Tough™ C2r is suitable for indoor floor-, industrial-, marine and protective coatings.

WANNATE® HMDI by Wanhua Chemical is a liquid cycloaliphatic diisocyanate with low viscosity. It offers good mechanical strength, abrasion- and hydrolysis resistance, and retention of gloss and physical properties upon weathering.

• It forms optically clear polyurethanes in combination with suitable polyol co-reactants.
• WANNATE® HMDI is used in coatings for flooring, roofing, maintenance and textile applications.

Susterra® Propanediol by Primient Covation is a pure, plant-based, petroleum-free diol. It is a non-toxic, food safe, renewably & sustainably sourced, 100% USDA bio-based building block. It exhibits high thermal stability and abrasion-, stain & scratch resistance. It is used as a co-solvent in water-based architectural- & industrial coatings and when used as polyol in PUD-s it helps improving adhesion, chemical-, corrosion & impact resistance as well as mechanical properties like resistance to deformation (Young’s modulus).

• In wood coating applications, it offers freeze-thaw protection & open time and prolongs durability due to higher initial elastic nature when formulated in PUD-s.
• It is used as a solvent, humectant and as monomer for polyester binders (polyol) in inks, providing dry performance.
• It improves flexibility & impact resistance, reduces viscosity when used to formulate epoxy polyesters for powder coatings, and is used as NPG replacement.
• Susterra® Propanediol acts as an excellent monomer for polyol production or as chain extender in high-performing polyurethane applications.
• It reduces solvents and provides grain enhancement & gloss in UV coatings.
• It generates up to 86% less greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1,4-butanediol (BDO), a common petrochemical-sourced alternative and propylene glycol.
• It can replace propylene glycol and boosts performance at both high & low temperatures.
• It is suitable to formulate PUD-s for synthetic leather skin coats concrete floors-, electronics- & industrial direct-to-metal coatings.

Relca® PU-683 by DKSH is a water-based, solvent-free, anionic dispersion of an aliphatic polyester urethane. It exhibits excellent taber abrasion resistance, excellent water resistance, excellent hydrolysis resistance and high hardness.

• It is highly flexible and yields clear, glossy and flexible films.
• Relca® PU-683 is recommended for 1K & 2K flooring coatings, furniture & parquet coatings and general wood coatings applications.
• It is available in Canada.

Thetawet™ FS-8020EB by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a 30% active, water soluble, low foaming, anionic fluorosurfactant with tolerance to mineral based fillers (calcium carbonate). It acts as excellent wetting and leveling agent for wetting difficult to wet surfaces (plastics, oily substrates, waxy surfaces), for reduction in coating surface defects and enhanced gloss development for smoother, more even films in finishes & polishes. It does not impart color or change the optical properties of the coating beyond potential gloss or DOI improvement from better reflectance. It shows exceptional stability and functionality in severe thermal & chemical environments, also stable even in highly acidic or basic environments and in hard water without chelation. It is ideal for use in VOC sensitive systems. It is used in industrial and architectural paints & coatings, floor finishes, sealers, automotive finishes & top coats, lacquers and polishes. It is based on short-chain fluorochemical technology which meets the goal of the US EPA 2010/2015 PFOA Stewardship Program. Recommended dosage level of Thetawet™ FS-8020EB is 0.01-0.05%. It has a shelf life of 12 months.

Capa® PROTX 1001 by Ingevity is a premium grade linear polyester diol. It is derived from caprolactone monomer, terminated by primary hydroxyl groups. It exhibits low/zero VOC and low viscosity for faster processing and less solvent demand. It provides resistance to hand sanitizer, water and various alcohols.

• It offers improved hardness, chemical- and stain resistance, while maintaining flexibility.
• Capa® PROTX 1001 is used as a raw material to make polyurethane dispersion for coating applications.
• It is recommended for automotive interiors, leather, metal, plastic, textile and wood floor coatings.

Luna-nol C-12 distributed by DKSH is a water-based coalescent and retarder solvent. It can enhance the performance properties of the paint and shows good film forming properties.

• It is designed for use in coatings such as architectural, automotive OEM (electrodeposition primers) and can and floor polishes.
• It is suitable for general industrial-, industrial maintenance-, marine- and industrial wood- & transportation coating applications.
• It is recommended for emulsion polymer systems like latex paints, coil coatings and baking enamels.
• It can be used in graphic arts & printing inks (lithographic and letterpress oil-based inks).
• It is available in USA, Europe and Asia/Pacific regions.

Plastorit® Micro by Imerys acts as a filler. It is a heat resistant, fine particle size mineral designed for industrial primers, building systems, protective and wood coatings. Plastorit® Micro offers low oil absorption, textured finishes and novel optical effects. Recommended for interior/ exterior decorative matts, floor coatings, anti-corrosives, low VOC systems, wood stains, metal and powder coatings.

Flexiwet™ CZ-1100 by Innovative Chemical Technologies is a non-fluorinated surfactant, wetting and leveling agent. It provides smoother and defect-free coatings. It offers anti-blocking and reduced surface tension at low loading levels.

• It is ideal for wetting difficult-to-wet substrates like plastics, oily substrates and waxy surfaces.
• It is used in paints and coatings including floor care applications.
• Recommended dosage of Flexiwet™ CZ-1100 is 0.15 to 0.35 wt%.
• It has a shelf life of 12 months.

HETRON® 922 PAW by allnex is a promoted, thixotropic and wax-free epoxy vinyl ester resin. It is formulated to provide excellent performance in a wide range of composite applications. Offers good chemical resistance to corrosive environments including sewage treatments and associated fumes. Exhibits excellent impact strength and high tensile elongation. Suitable for flake-glass or fibreglass reinforced linings, coatings and monolithic toppings on tanks, vats, floors and troughs. HETRON® 922 PAW has a shelf life of 3 months.
