Coating ingredients for Elastomeric Roof Coatings

BIOBAN™ O 45 ANTIMICROBIAL distributed by DKSH is a liquid fungicide. It is an active ingredient which inhibits and controls fungal growth of many fungi associated with odors, staining, discoloration, and general biodeteroriation in industrial applications.

• BIOBAN™ O 45 ANTIMICROBIAL is designed for latex, solvent based paints, semitransparent-, solid stains and building materials such as elastomeric roof and wall coatings.
• It is used to control fungi in dispersed pigment, colorants and extended slurries.
• It is available in Canada.
• It has a shelf life of 60 months.

VISCOPOL™ 1662EM by allnex is a fine particle size, high performance styrene acrylic emulsion. It is APEO-, formaldehyde-, or formaldehyde donors- free grade.

• Coatings based on VISCOPOL™ 1662EM exhibit flexible, tack free films with excellent water and alkali resistance.
• It provides high gloss, blister resistance, high build and excellent application properties.
• It is used in water based decorative concrete paints (interior and exterior).
• Recommended dosage level is 4.5-7.0% based on polymer solids & PVC and 3-4% for roof coatings primers.
• It has a shelf life of 6 months at 100°F.

VISCOPOL™ 1662E by allnex is an alkyl phenol ethoxylate (APE) free, general purpose and fine particle size styrene acrylic copolymer emulsion grade. It displays relatively tough but flexible film that is highly resistant to water and alkali.

• It has been developed specifically as a binder for high-build coatings where exterior durability, adhesion and toughness are required.
• When used in high-build coatings, it exhibits excellent pigment binding characteristics and exceptional mechanical properties, permitting the coatings to be applied by all conventional spray equipment systems including airless spray.
• VISCOPOL™ 1662E based coatings exhibit excellent adhesion to degreased galvanized steel, both primed and unprimed.
• Adhesion to iron, steel and many other substrates is also particularly good.
• It includes textured finishes and trowel applied finishes.
• It is used in metal primers and roof-tile repair coatings.
• It has a shelf life of 12 months.

Incozol® 4 by Incorez is bis-oxazolidine latent hardener for high-build coatings without carbon dioxide gassing. It hydrolyzes on exposure to moisture, yielding a reactive amine and hydroxyl functional crosslinking agent. Offers stability to repeated opening of containers and accelerates the curing of low NCO PU pre-polymers. It has an excellent shelf life, low equivalent weight and can be used as bi- or tetra-functional latent hardener. It is recommended for high-solids (low-VOC) moisture cure varnishes and coatings systems for roofing, balcony and floor. In one-component systems, it is normally used with aliphatic pre-polymers. In two-component systems, it can also be used with aromatic pre-polymers or isocyanates. Incozol® 4 offers faster through cure which leads to increased tensile strength, tougher and more durable coatings.

Incozol® EH by Incorez is urethane bis-oxazolidine-based latent hardener. It accelerates the cure of one component polyurethane coatings without the addition of metal catalysts. It enhances properties such as mechanical strength through the elimination of carbon dioxide gassing in high-build, high-solids polyurethane systems. It offers toughness, durability and tensile properties. It provides excellent in-can stability, improved aesthetics & performance to one component aliphatic and aromatic polyurethane systems. The reduced volatility of the aldehyde leaving group (2-ethyl hexanal) in this product results in a less pungent odor than bis-oxazolidines based on isobutyraldehyde. It is recommended for roofing, flooring and balcony coatings. Incozol® EH confers tolerance to the repeated opening of containers and can be used as a versatile curing agent with 2 or 4 functional mix ratios.

Dispurez® 104 by Incorez is a solvent-free, aliphatic polyurethane dispersion. It has been formulated to offer the best combination of toughness and flexibility to coatings that require durability. Films derived from Dispurez® 104 exhibit excellent hydrolysis and thermal resistance whilst also offering excellent low temperature flexibility, making them particularly suited for waterproofing, boosting performance of acrylic wall coatings and textile applications.

Vinavil 4811 by Vinavil is a pure acrylic copolymer emulsion. It offers excellent water-, staining-, weathering- and dirt pick-up resistance. It shows excellent compatibility with various additives. Vinavil 4829 by Vinavil is a pure acrylic copolymer emulsion with excellent low-temperature flexibility. It exhibits excellent water-, weathering- and dirt pick-up resistance. It shows outstanding compatibility with various additives. It produces uniform, transparent, flexible and tacky films. Vinavil 4829 is used in the formulation of elastomeric roof and wall coating applications. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
