About Borchers (Milliken)

Borchers, established in 1807 and integrated into Milliken, is headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, USA. The company supplies additive and wetting-chemistry families for adhesives. Its portfolio includes dispersants, wetting agents, rheology modifiers, and adhesion-promoter families. These materials improve substrate wetting, pigment and filler dispersion, viscosity control, and long-term durability in adhesive formulations. They also support higher solids loading, minimize sagging and settling, enhance storage stability, and ensure consistent processing and application performance across water-based, solvent-based, and industrial adhesive systems.

Borchi® Gel 0620

It is non-ionic polyurethane-based thickener that is free of alkylphenol ethoxylate (APEO) and tin compounds. Depending on the type of binder used and the other components of the system it produces by means of a non-covalent network with binder particles and pigments a pronounced shear-thinning flow behavior. For various applications it can be added trouble-free in any formulation step. Borchi® Gel 0620 is suitable for all waterborne systems and it develops a strong pseudoplastic flow behaviour. It contains approx. 19% 2-Butoxyethanol (butyl glycol).

Borchi® Gel 0626

It acts as a non-ionic polyurethane-based thickener that is free of alkylphenol ethoxylate (APEO), HAPs (hazardous air pollutants), tin compounds and any solvents. Borchi® Gel 0626 is easy to use and can be added in any stage of the formulation. The incorporation is recommended after dispersing the pigments and fillers, prior to letting down. In critical systems or under low shear mixing conditions could a pre-dilution in water or a mixture of water / propylenglycol supplementary induce a homogeneous incorporation. It mostly produces strong shear-thinning flow behavior depending on the type of binder used and the other components of the system in medium as well as high-shear range (1000 – 10000 s<sup>-1</sup>).
