GENIOSIL® STP-E140 by Wacker is an alpha, gamma trimethoxysilylpropylcarbamate-terminated polyether. It is suitable as a binder in moisture curing formulations.
- It is a direct consequence of the structural proximity between the nitrogen atom and the silicon atom in the trimethoxysilyl-methylcarbamate group, known as the alpha-effect.
- It exhibits simple compounding with conventional auxiliaries and is free from both plasticizers and tin.
- It provides high elasticity, excellent recovery, minimal creep, and transparent systems.
- It also offers strong mechanical properties, fast curing, a wide adhesion range, and a long shelf life.
- GENIOSIL® STP-E140 hydrolyzes in the presence of moisture to finally form a stable siloxane network initiated by mild catalysis rather than heavy metal ions.
- It differs to conventional silylated polymers due to its high reactivity.
- It is used in building and construction adhesives, do-it-yourself projects, flooring installation, home improvement gluing, industrial adhesives, silane-modified polymers, and the production of low-modulus sealants.
