Pentalyn® A by Pinova (DRT) is pentaerythritol ester of refined wood rosin. Acts as a tackifier. It is a synthetic and hard thermoplastic resin.
- It provides excellent gloss, wide solubility range and low solution viscosity.
- It is heat, light and moisture stable and exhibits excellent pigment wetting properties and high refractive index.
- Compared with rosin esters derived from glycerol, this ester is a larger molecule and has about a 20°C higher softening point.
- Pentalyn® A is used in hot melt and pressure sensitive adhesives.
