Takenate® 500

Supplied byMitsui Chemicals- Last Updated on Nov 10, 2014

m-Xylylene diisocyanates (XDI). Acts as a curing agent. It is an aliphatic polyisocyanate with an aromatic nucleus that gives some unique properties. It shows higher reactivity than other aliphatic diisocyantes such as hexamethylene diisocyanates (HDI) and isophorone diisocyanates (IPDI). It can be combined with polyols, castor oil and other resins containing hydroxyl groups. Takenate® 500 can be cured faster than aromatic polyisocyanates based on TDI. The polyurethanes derived from this grade offer better resistance to yellowing than those from aromatic diisocyanates such as toluene diisocyanates (TDI) and diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI). Exhibits good weather resistance, color retention and adhesion.
