K-FLEX® 975P by LANXESS (previously Emerald Kalama Chemical) is a non-phthalate, low vapor pressure-VOC plasticizer. It is a blend of diethylene glycol-, dipropylene glycol- and propylene glycol dibenzoate. It achieves excellent performance and compatibility in waterborne adhesives, latex caulks, and reactive sealants, including acrylic, VAE, PVAc, STPE, and STPU type chemistries. It is also used in food contact- & pressure-sensitive adhesives and plastisols. It is economical to use and designed to offer a broad range of compatibility with polar polymers, with improved handling due to its lower freeze point. It improves elastomeric and adhesion characteristics, demonstrating a strong viscosity response of the base emulsion to the plasticizer (demonstrating compatibility and allowing flexibility). It also improves wet tack, suppresses Tg, extends open times, and reduces set times. K-FLEX® 975P is suitable for melt compound flexible vinyl application. It is listed in FDA 21 CFR 175.105- adhesives (part 175- indirect food additives and Subpart B-Substance for use only as components of adhesives).
