Plasticizers

Based on 826 products - Last update on the Jun 26, 2025

Plasticizers increase polymer chain mobility, lowering glass transition temperature, and enhancing flexibility without compromising adhesion strength. Plasticizers prove essential in applications in construction sealants, pressure-sensitive adhesives, and assembly applications.

Sub-types include adipates, benzoates, citrates, and polymeric plasticizers. Recent developments focus on bio-based plasticizers derived from renewable resources like vegetable oils and growing demand for non-phthalate plasticizers addressing regulatory concerns.

Benzoflex™ 2-45 Plasticizer

by Eastman

Benzoflex™ 2-45 Plasticizer by Eastman is oxydiethylene dibenzoate. It is an excellent solvator for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and also shows compatibility with it. Flexible vinyl formulations which are based on this plasticizer can be processed quicker and at lower temperatures than vinyl based on a di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate. Benzoflex™ 2-45 Plasticizer is resistant to extraction from the vinyl by aliphatic and oily solvents and thickens the polyvinyl acetate emulsions due to which the adhesives are comparatively stable.

Benzoflex™ 9-88 plasticizer

by Eastman

Benzoflex™ 9-88 plasticizer by Eastman is a high solvating plasticizer. It is used in cyanoacrylate adhesives, latex caulks, polysulfide sealants, polyurethane adhesives and polyurethane sealants.
