K-FLEX® 850P by LANXESS is a non-phthalate, plasticizer. It is a blend of dipropylene glycol- and diethylene glycol dibenzoate. It is similar in composition to K-FLEX® 850S (DEGDB rich) that is designed for both vinyl and waterborne latex adhesive applications with the economy as a focus. It offers good flexibility, viscosity response, and adhesion (even to challenging substrates) and extended open times. It provides reduced set times, improved wet tack, and enhanced weatherability. It achieves excellent performance and compatibility in latex caulks, and reactive & polysulfide sealants, including acrylic, VAE, PVAc, STPE, and STPU type chemistries. K-FLEX® 850P can also be used in food contact- and pressure-sensitive adhesives. As a high solvator for vinyl it can be formulated alone or in blends for plastisols as well as melt compounded vinyl. It is listed in FDA 21 CFR 175.105- adhesives (part 175- indirect food additives and Subpart B-Substance for use only as components of adhesives).
