Alkyd resin. Acts as a plasticizer. Exhibits high plasticizing efficiency at average temperatures. It is a very tough resin without much flexibility at low temperatures. Compatible with cellulose acetate propionate, nitrocellulose and polyvinyl chloride. Offers an excellent compromise between the low temperature flexibility characteristics of an ester-type plasticizer and the high tensile strength obtainable with resin-type plasticizers. Also offers high resistance to aromatic solvents and gasoline.
