Dioctyl adipate. Acts as a highly efficient monomeric ester plasticizer. The compounds plasticized with it shows very good heat and light stability. Compatible with cellulose acetate butyrate, chlorinated rubber, ethyl cellulose, polychloroprene, polyvinyl butyral, polyvinyl chloride, nitrile and nitrocellulose. It is outstanding among the adipates on the market for low odor and taste characteristics. Imparts excellent low-temperature flexibility to compounds. It is often used to improve the viscosity and viscosity-stability characteristics of phthalate based plastisols.
