DISPERCOLL® U 54 by Covestro is an anionic, high molecular weight polyurethane dispersion. It is a raw material for formulating thermally active adhesives for the furniture, automotive, shoe, and construction industries. Also suitable for water-borne, fast-bonding, moisture and heat-resistant adhesives. Exhibits outstanding bonding properties on most synthetic and natural materials. The thermal stability and resistance to plasticizers, grease, and oil can be increased by the addition of 2-5 % by weight of a water-emulsifiable polyisocyanate from the Desmodur® range. The crosslinker is added just before application of the adhesive and mixed thoroughly. The shelf life of DISPERCOLL® U 54 is 6 months. Recommended storage temperature is 5°C-23°C but temperatures higher than 30 °C should be avoided.
