DISPERCOLL® U 53 by Covestro is an anionic, high-molecular-weight polyurethane dispersion. Exhibits outstanding bonding properties on most synthetic and natural materials. DISPERCOLL® U 53 is a raw material for the formulation of thermally activated adhesives for use in furniture, automotive, shoe, and construction industries. The thermal stability and resistance to plasticizers, grease, and oil can be increased by the addition of 2-5 % by weight of a water-emulsifiable polyisocyanate from the Desmodur® range. Suitable for fast bonding, heat-activated, moisture-resistant, heat-resistant, and water-borne adhesives. The shelf life of DISPERCOLL® U 53 is 6 months.
