Wetting Agents

Based on 403 products - Last update on the Jun 26, 2025

Wetting agents appear as clear to slightly colored liquids that reduce surface tension in adhesive formulations. Key features include improved flow properties, enhanced substrate penetration, and compatibility with diverse adhesive chemistries. They are crucial in applications involving low-energy surfaces or complex geometries, making them valuable additives in electronics potting, automotive assembly, and construction adhesives where complete substrate wetting ensures optimal bond performance.

Industry trends reflect development of fluorine-free wetting agents addressing environmental concerns, and multifunctional additives that combine wetting properties with additional benefits like defoaming or improved leveling. Sub-types include silicone-based surfactants, fluorosurfactants, and conventional organic surfactants, and reactive wetting agents.
