Halogenated Monomers for Adhesives and Sealants

DOUBLEMER® 246 by Double Bond Chemical is Chlorinated polyester resin diluted in 40% GPTA. It is a clear liquid. DOUBLEMER® 246 has fast cure and exhibits good adhesion.

DOUBLEMER® 276 by Double Bond Chemical is Chlorinated polyester acrylate. It is a clear liquid. It has fast cure response, high gloss, exhibits good adhesion and good flexibility. DOUBLEMER® 276 provides metal adhesion.

Chlorinated polyester acrylate. It is a light-yellowish liquid. It has fast cure and exhibits excellent adhesion. Provides good adhesion on PP, PE, PET and OPP substrates.

Chlorinated polyester resin diluted in 40% TMPTA. It is a clear liquid. It has fast cure and exhibits good adhesion.

BX-DAC by Gelest (Mitsubishi Chemical) is diallyl chlorendate. It is a clear, slightly viscous liquid. Suitable for intumescent polymers and optical resins.

Epicerol® by Syensqo is bio-based epichlorohydrin (ECH). It acts as a chemical intermediate mainly used in the manufacture of epoxy resins. It is recommended for the production of adhesives and sealants, composites and electronic components. It is also used in the production of epichlorohydrin elastomers, polyamide-epichlorohydrin resins, synthetic glycerol, polyols and a variety of glycidyl derivatives. Epicerol® is produced using Solvay’s proprietary process.

VCM by SABIC is a reactive gas with a faint odor chloroethene. It is converted into liquid with a density of 0.91 gm/cm³, under refrigeration. It is sparingly soluble in water and alcohol. It is used in the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Kowa THFMA is a Tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate. It is a fluorine-containing monomer. Used in adhesives.

BP-EF is a 4,4-(9-fluorenylidene)bis(2-phenoxyethanol) by Songwon. It is recommended to be used as a component of a conducting polymer. It can stabilize and conduct a charge. BP-EF offers luminescence, absorption and electronic properties. It is recommended for adhesives and sealants.

Trifluoroethylene. This biobased halogenated monomer is saturated with limonene vapor to inhibit polymerization. It is found to be in gaseous form at ambient pressure. It is used to manufacture various polymers and copolymers, also shows some utility as a reagent in organic synthesis and in adhesives.
