Adhesive ingredients for Paper & Packaging

LIGOS™ A 9200 by Trinseo is a styrene-free, robust and versatile all-acrylic emulsion with very low odor. It is designed for waterborne adhesive for the lamination of flexible structures that come in contact with food. Exhibits high efficiency due to high solid content, it enables fast processing and efficient drying.

• It ensures high initial shear- and bond strength which creates a more durable application.
• It also enhances mechanical and thermal resistance of packaging's by its potential to be combined with a water-dispersible crosslinker.
• LIGOS™ A 9200 is suitable for laminating paper to a wide range of substrates, including treated polyolefins, polyvinylidene chloride-coated substrates, metalized films, polyamide and polyester films.
• It is also effective for film-to-film structures.
• It increases operational efficiency for film converters by enabling fast slitting in post-lamination processes.
• Its repulpability is confirmed by using the CEPI recyclability laboratory test method and is suitable for standard mill recycling as certified by Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS).

Cardolite® NX-2026 is a high purity cardanol, bio-based diluent, resin modifier, and accelerator designed for use in adhesives and sealants. It is based on natural, renewable, non-food raw material feedstock. Exhibits very low viscosity, low volatility, excellent water resistance and corrosion protection originating from its chemical structure, long hydrophobic aliphatic chain and aromatic ring. Cardolite® NX-2026 is suitable to be used as a diluent and an accelerator for epoxy adhesives and an isocyanate blocking agent. In adhesive formulation, Cardolite® NX-2026 can improve workability by reducing viscosity and help to achieve fast cure in solvent free formulations. It is recommended for 2K Epoxy adhesives, pressure sensitive adhesive, hot melt adhesives for fabric lamination, 1K/2K epoxy-PU hybrid adhesive, wood/ paper adhesives and industrial adhesive applications. The recommended use level of the product is <20% of total resin weight.

Nyad® M200 by Imerys is a high-purity, wollastonite grade. It acts as an anti-mud cracking agent.

• It offers improved loss factor and superior performance in damping.
• It is recommended for plastisols, water-based adhesives, & sealants that are used in automotive applications.
• Nyad® M200 is suitable for caulks & downgauging of core paper-weight in adhesives.

Nyad® M400 by Imerys is a high-purity, wollastonite grade that acts as an anti-mud cracking agent. It offers improved loss factor. It is recommended for water-based adhesives, caulks & sealants. Nyad® M400 is suitable for downgauging of core paper-weight in adhesives.

RHEOLATE® 250 by Elementis is 14% solids, non-ionic synthetic associative thickener. It is optimized for medium shear-rate applications and provides high thickening efficiency with optimized flow and substrate wetting.

• It can be used alone with small particle size latex systems or in combination with a co-thickener such as RHEOLATE® HX 6010 or RHEOLATE® 212 if a more newtonian shear rate profile is desired.
• It shows efficient mid-shear (KU) rheology modifier, shear thinning viscosity profile and reduced spattering during roller application.
• It is bio-stable and pH independent grade.
• It promotes effective substrate wetting and is compatible with other thickeners.
• It does not detract from gloss or wet adhesion.
• Designed for waterborne systems including adhesives, caulks & sealants and pressure sensitive & packaging adhesives.
• RHEOLATE® 250 has a shelf life of 2 years.

MARNEX™ AL072 by Macroocean is a linear, high molecular weight saturated polyester resin.

• It shows excellent adhesive strength to steels, metal, plastics and PET or PVC films.
• It offers good flexibility and adhesion when used with high Tg types of resin.
• MARNEX™ AL072 can be used for adhesive between metal and film or film and film application.
• Recommended for pretreatment for plastic films, flexible packaging and FFC applications.
• It has a shelf life of 24 months.
• Complies with FDA 175.300.

MARNEX™ AH550 by Macroocean is high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steels, aluminum foil, PET and PVC films.

• When using melamine or blocked isocyanate curing agents to cross-link the polymer, good adhesion and film strength can be achieved.
• It offers good processability and heat resistance.
• MARNEX™ AH550 is recommended for pretreatment for plastic films, flexible packaging and industrial adhesive applications.
• It has a shelf life of 24 months.
• Complies with FDA 175.300.

LIGOS™ A 3009 by Trinseo is styrene butadiene (SB) latex binder. It shows excellent adhesion onto paper and offers very good resistance to oil migration.

• It displays excellent compatibility as a primer with LIGOS™ A 3210 and A 3215 in terms of pressure sensitive applications.
• LIGOS™ A 3009 is suitable for paper priming and lamination.

Vinavil® EVA 2603 L by Vinavil is an aqueous dispersion of a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer with good water resistance. Provides quick setting time and excellent mechanical stability. Offers excellent setting speed and good adhesion on different substrates (lacquered or plastic-coated polyolefin films and other difficult to bond materials) which makes it the ideal base for adhesives used on automatic high speed packaging machines. Shows moderate increase in viscosity on the addition of coalescing agents and/or solvents and/or plasticizers. It is particularly suitable for paper and board adhesives assemblies, showing excellent performances when employed in mosaic net glue. It is especially compatible with thickeners (cellulosic and acrylic nature), plasticizers (benzoic acid esters, polymer based, triacetin, acetyltributylcitrate), tackifiers resins (natural and modified colophony, coumarone-indene, terpenes, hydrocarbons) and natural latex rubber. Vinavil® EVA 2603 L complies by composition with BGVV XIV and FDA CFR 175.105. It has a shelf life of 6 months.

Vinavil® 2154 L by Vinavil is a plasticizer-free polyvinyl acetate water dispersion. It provides low viscosity, excellent setting time and high wet tack development. It offers excellent mechanical stability and pseudoplastic rheological behavior. Vinavil® 2154 L is suitable for wood-, paper- and cardboard adhesive applications. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
