d<sub>2</sub>w by Symphony Environmental is an oxo-degradant masterbatch. It is designed to control and shorten the life of normal plastic products and packaging. It converts ordinary plastic at the end of its useful life into a material with a completely different molecular structure. At that stage it is no longer a plastic but has become a material which can be bio-assimilated in the environment in the same way as a leaf and the product eventually becomes carbon-dioxide, water and biomass. It is compatible with PE, PP and PS. It works with virgin and recycled plastic. d<sub>2</sub>w addition rate is 1%. It successfully certifies with British standard 8472, US standard ASTM D6954, United Arab Emirates standard 5009:2009 and French Accord AFNOR T51-808.
Silver based masterbatch designed to provide plastic with anti-bacterial properties. It provides an extra layer of protection against transmission of bacteria and other common organisms including dangerous bacteria such as MRSA, e.coli, salmonella, listeria, pseudomonas and aspergillus niger. It prevents staining, discoloration and odor development. It is compatible with PE, PP, PET, PS, PVC and other plastics. Used in calculators, sports clothing and in other plastic products. Its addition rate is 1-2%. It successfully certifies with ISO22196 and JIS Z 2801 test methods
Non-silver based anti-fungal masterbatch designed to combat molds, fungi, decay organisms, bacteria and algae. It prevents fungal contamination whilst preserving the aesthetic and functional properties of plastic products. It increases the shelf-life of fresh food and reduces requirement of food preservatives. It can be used for agricultural (pipes and green house films), non-food contact (swimming pool covers, credit cards, filters, tables, clothing and electronic devices), and food contact (cutting boards, food containers and food packaging) applications. Its addition rate is 1%. It successfully certifies for anti-fungal properties according to ISO 16869:2008 – anti-fungal, ISO 22196:2011 – anti-bacterial, prEN WD_algae – anti-algae, ASTM G21 – anti-fungal and ISO 846 – anti-fungal/bacterial tests.
