Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) by Shazand Petrochemical complex is a colorless, low-viscous, flammable liquid with an ester-like odor. Used for copolymerization and terpolymerization with other monomers, like ethylene, vinyl chloride, acrylate, maleinate, fumarate, vinyllaurate. It can be used as a building block to manufacture polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl acetals, polyvinylalcohol for water-soluble packaging films, ethylene vinyl alcohol used to produce gas barrier layers in coextruded packaging, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers for production of flexible films, moldings and insulation.
DEG by Shazand Petrochemical complex is diethylene glycol. Obtained from the reaction of ethylene oxide and MEG. diethylene glycol esters with fatty acids (oleic, stearic, lauric, etc.) are used as plasticizers of polymers. Also used as synthesizing agent for alkyd resins as well as saturated and unsaturated polyester and also used in the synthesis of polyurethane resins as a coalescence agent. Acts as anti-freezing agent in polymer and/or acrylic homopolymer emulsions, as chain extender in the dispersion and as wetting agent in unsaturated polyester resins. DEG is recommended for secondary solvent in brake fluid formulations to avoid the excessive swelling of rubber in the hydraulic system.
Acetic acid. Acts as a reaction solvent and as a reagent. It is a colorless, transparent liquid with a poignant odor, frozen at normal temperatures (15 -16°C). It is freely mixed with water, alcohol, ether, or organic compounds.
