MCX 117672 by RTP Company is a 10% active Biosafe® silane-based antimicrobial masterbatch formulated specifically for polyurethane thermoplastic elastomers (TPU). Provides permanent protection that maintains its effectiveness for the useful life of the treated product. Cost effective due to lower active ingredient loading requirements, non-migratory, and safe for skin contact. Offers the widest range of coloring options. Its active ingredient has been used in reviewed FDA medical devices under 510 (k) procedures and has passed ISO 10993-5 testing. Not approved for food contact uses. Antimicrobial properties can be achieved with 0.25-0.5% Biosafe concentrations in finished goods. Is free of VOCs, arsenic, heavy metals, or polychlorinated phenols and provides low toxicity as well as ease of handling. MCX 117672 is suitable for items manufactured via injection, fiber, film, sheet, or profile extrusion. Used in household as well as consumer goods, medical devices, business machines, sports equipment, leisure equipment, appliances, transportation interiors, construction materials and most outdoor applications.

It protects parts against staining, odors, and degradation due to fungi, mold, yeasts, mildew, algae and other microbes. It is engineered for for ethylene nylon (PA6, PA6/6) injection molding or extrusion applications. Bactiblock® technology is based on silver-functionalized clay that creates a naturally sourced and highly efficient anti-microbial product. It is not used against food-borne or disease causing bacteria.
