Pentaerythritol. It is a tetrafunctional alcohol. Soluble in water, benzene, ether, petroleum ether and slightly soluble in alcohol. It is used in the manufacture of alkyd resins, fatty acid resin and tall oil esters. Also recommended for vinyl chloride, synthetic rubber, pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), polyvinyl chloride stabilizers, olefins antioxidant and pentaerythritol triacrylate. Pentaerythritol.
