APP -205 by Oceanchem Group is ammonium polyphosphate. Acts as a flame retardant. It is based on APP-201. Develops its effectiveness through phosphorus / nitrogen synergism. Exhibits high processing stability when incorporated into thermoplastics. It differs in its mode of action from chlorine or bromine-containing flame retardants by achieving its effect through intumescence. The thermoplastic material foams on exposure to flame. The carbon foam layer so formed protects the polymer through its heat-insulating effect, reduces further oxygen access and prevents dripping of the thermoplastic. APP -205 can be used in PP, PP copolymers and PP blends. APP -203 by Oceanchem Group is an ammonium polyphosphate. Acts as a flame retardant. It is non-hygroscopic and non-flammable. The crystal modification is phase II. It is manufactured from APP-201 by micro-encapsulation with melamine resin. Offers lower viscosity in aqueous suspensions and lower heat stability in the temperature range greater than 300°C. It is slightly soluble in water even at elevated temperatures and completely insoluble in organic solvents. APP -203 is compatible with PP, PE, PA, PVC, PBT, PU and rubber. APP -202 by Oceanchem Group acts as a flame retardant. It is non-hygroscopic and non-flammable. The crystal modification is phase II. It is manufactured from APP-201 by micro-encapsulation with melamine resin. Offers lower viscosity in aqueous suspensions. It is slightly soluble in water and completely insoluble in organic solvents. Compatible with PP, PE, PA, PVC, PBT, PU and rubber. APP -204 by Oceanchem Group is an ammonium polyphosphate.
