Zinc acetate. Acts as a catalyst. Used in the production of polyesters, polyamides, polyether and vinyl acetate as well as in the manufacture of phenolic foam for thermal insulation, and alkyds. Can also be used as a PVC blowing agent as well as in the waterproofing of textiles, paper and leather.
Calcium acetate. Acts as a PVC foam blowing agent. It is available as white powder or agglomerate. The agglomerate of calcium acetate offers the properties on non-dustiness, improved wettability, higher reactivity, higher bulk density and improved free-flowability. It is FDA listed (DMF # 18997).
