Di-butyl phthalate. Acts as a plasticizer. It is produced by esterifying butanol and phthalic anhyrdide. It exhibits higher volatility, compatibility with PVC and has high plasticizing efficiency. It also exhibits inferior aging resistance, cold resistance, electric resistivity, and durability. Used in hoses, vinyl tiles and plastic plates.
