1,1,1-Tris (4-hydroxyphenyl) ethane. It has low viscosity and provides high thermal resistance. It is used as cross linking or branching agent for polymers like polycarbonates, epoxy, polyesters and similar systems where an -OH functional reactant is used.

Branched polycarbonates derived from THPE are high molecular weight thermoplastic materials that can be fabricated into films or sheets or blow molded to prepare structured containers. Used in epoxies and polycarbonates.
