Dumacil 100 by Elementis is micro-fine silica treated with an organic silicone compound. It acts as a defoamer. The resultant hydrophobic silica is extremely water repellent and easily dispersed in organic systems. It appears as a white powder. It is a key ingredient in many defoamer formulations. Dumacil 100 also finds application in rubber and fire extinguishers, etc.
