2,6 ditertiary butyl 4 methyl phenol. Acts as antioxidant and emulsifier. It is a fat soluble organic compound used in petroleum waxes, plastics and polyolefins. It is also applicable in pharmaceuticals, jet fuels, rubber, lubricating oils, transformer oils and synthetic oils. Butylated hydroxytoluene ( BHT - FCC ) is also used in vegetable oils, edible fats and animal feed / pet food as a food additive.
