Tributyl Citrate. Used as a plasticizer. Does not support fungal growth. Can be used for both cellulosic and vinyl resins. Also found utility in polylactic acid resins as a biodegradable component. Citroflex™ A4 by aurorium is a rapidly biodegraded, non-VOC plasticizer for vinyl toys. It is based on acetyltri-n-butyl citrate (ATBC). It is a phthalate-free alternative to plasticizers such as low molecular weight adipates, phthalates, and sebacates in various polymer applications.<br>
<ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It provides many improvements over dibutyl phthalate in cellulose nitrate films including lower volatility, better resistance to yellowing, and better adhesion to metals.</li>
<li>It offers very good processing option, low toxicity, and a long history of use in sensitive applications.</li>
<li>Citroflex™ A4 is widely used in bio-polymer systems and food contact polymers.</li></ul> Acetyl triethyl citrate. Acts as a plasticizer. Offers low warping characteristics with cellulose acetate. Can be used in food wrap films. n-Butyryl tri-n-hexyl Citrate. Used as plasitcizer specifically designed for use in medical articles especially blood storage bags.
