nSHIELD™ are dispersions of silver based antimicrobial in a nylon 6 carrier resin. They are antimicrobial masterbatches which are non-toxic by ingestion, thermally stable, and non-migratory. They offer excellent spin performance and low pack pressure by virtue of excellent dispersion of the antimicrobial additive. They are effective at low levels against a wide range of microorganisms. They possess high thermal stability and will not decompose at nylon 6 and nylon 6,6 spinning temperatures. They exhibit excellent spin performance and low pack pressure by virtue of excellent dispersion of the antimicrobial additive, high thermal stability, superior processability in plastics applications. Used in a wide range of synthetic fibers applications, including textiles, non-wovens and synthetic turf, and a variety of plastics applications. Suitable for nylon- and polyester fibers. Use rate is 1.5%.
