MAPICO™ Black B (850)

Supplied byVenator Materials- Last Updated on Dec 8, 2023

A very fine, high-purity synthetic magnetite (Fe3O4) produced by precipitation to a cubical shape. Is a high-tinting strength, permanent, non-bleeding and inert black pigment characterized by a blue tint. Replaces carbon blacks in formulations where floating or flooding is a problem. Meets ASTM C979-82 standards and therefore is suitable to color products made with cement. Recommended, owing to its sufficient high-purity, to be used as a colorant in cosmetic, animal and pet food applications and in packaging or articles that come in contact with food (21CFR). Offers reliability and consistent quality, stability under exposure to sunlight and UV radiation and resistance against alkali, chemical and weather. Used in rubbers and plastics applications.
