Stearic acid. Acts as an internal/ external lubricant both in calendered and extrusion formulae. Is a fatty acid distilled from hydrogenated tallow mainly composed of palmitic and stearic acid. In addition, it reduces tacking in very plasticized compounds and the plate out upon calender. Useful for non-toxic compounds in contact with food.
