TMCH-90-WO by United Initiators is an initiator (radical source) for the polymerization of monomers (styrene, vinyl acetate, methacrylates) and the crosslinking of polymers. It consists of 90% 1,1-Bis(tert.butylperoxy)3,3,5-trimethyl cyclohexane, desensitized with odorless mineral spirit (OMS, white oil). It has reduced residual monomer contents with no reaction with chain-modifiers (mercaptans) and no hydrolysis in alkaline media.
- It is also used as an initiator for the high pressure polymerization of ethylene in combination with other peroxides of varying degrees of activity.
- It is recommended to be used in combination with more active peroxides, e.g. dibenzoyl peroxide (BENOX) or tert.butyl per-2-ethylhexanoate (TBPEH).
- It complies with RoHS 2002/95/E G and WEEE 2002/96/E G.
- Recommended usage level is 0.02-0.1% for styrene and 0.05-1% for other monomers.
- TMCH-90-WO has a shelf life of 6 months.
