
PEPTON® 62 RO by Thomas Swan acts as a peptizer and is composed of 2,2' dibenzamido diphenyl disulfide blended with a synergistic activator, inert carrier and organic dispersants.
- It increases the efficiency of open or internal mixer mastication of natural rubber and general purpose unsaturated synthetic elastomers, where reduction of viscosity is desirable.
- It is effective in mastication at 70°C & above, and gives best performance at 150-160°C.
- It has slight characteristic odor and is an improved and more efficient version of PEPTON® 62.
- It catalytically promotes molecular chain scission during mastication, thereby reducing its time & power consumption, providing lower production costs and increased production capacity.
- Its peptizing action is inhibited by sulfur and the viscosity of compounded stocks is therefore stable on storage.
- It is suitable for use in direct compounding.
- The recommended dosage level is 0.2-0.5 phr for natural rubber and 1.5-3.0 phr for synthetic elastomers.
- The shelf life of PEPTON® 62 RO is 48 months.
