PEPTON® 44 RO by Thomas Swan is a peptizer based on 2,2' dibenzamido diphenyl disulphide blended with a synergistic activator and an inert carrier and organic dispersants.
- It catalytically promotes molecular chain scission during mastication, thereby reducing mastication time and power consumption, giving lower production costs and increased production capacity.
- Its peptizing action is inhibited by sulfur and the viscosity of compounded stocks is therefore stable on storage.
- It is effective in mastication at 70°C and above and gives best performance at 150-160°C.
- It is recommended to increase the efficiency of open or internal mixer mastication of natural rubber and unsaturated synthetic elastomers, where reduction of viscosity is desirable.
- Its recommended dosage level is 0.2-0.5 phr for natural rubber and 1.5-3.0 phr for synthetic elastomers.
- PEPTON® 44 RO has a shelf life of 48 months.
