Struktol® Activator 73 LM

Supplied byStruktol- Last Updated on Feb 21, 2025

STRUKTOL® Activator 73 LM by Struktol is a multifunction cure activator for the sulfur vulcanization of diene rubber, especially natural rubber. It is a mixture of zinc salts of aliphatic and aromatic carboxylic acids. It offers improved properties at high temperature cures, viscosity reduction at high shear, higher modulus and less heat buildup under dynamic load. STRUKTOL® Activator 73 LM provides prolonged reversion time and reduced compression set at elevated temperatures. It can partly or totally replace conventional activators based on fatty acids, e.g., stearic acid, zinc stearate, and zinc 2-ethylhexanoate. It is an effective physical peptizer for the mastication of natural rubber. It improves processability in mixing, extrusion and molding. It is designed for low shear and low temperature mixes. Recommended dosage level is 2-5 phr, in combination with 2-5 phr zinc oxide. The shelf life of this product is 2 years.
